Pre-Planning
Dear Neighbor,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for considering placing your trust in the hands of our caring funeral home staff.
You have made a wise and caring decision to plan for your final expenses. Please be assured that we always strive to maintain the trust you have p0laced in us by providing you and your loved ones with prompt, courteous, and compassionate service. In fact, it is our goal to provide you with the kind of service that we would give to members of our own families.
Enclosed you will find many different forms of information that will help you understand the pre-arrangement process. First, there is a "General Price List" which details all the funeral home service charges. Next, there will be a "Casket Price List" and a "Vault Price List."(Note: There are no state or federal laws that require the purchase of a vault, this requirement is strictly a cemetery requirement. If your cemetery doesn't require the use of a vault, then you don't have to buy a vault unless you prefer using a vault.) Our funeral directors can let you know if your cemetery requires a vault.
These three areas of charges will comprise 95% of your funeral related charges. The other 5% will consist of cash advance items. Cash Advance Items are charges that we pay for you as a courtesy at no profit to us. Such items will include: Minister Honorariums, soloist, pianist, newspaper notices, death certificate charges, escorts, flowers, sales tax(merchandise only), etc.
After you have made the decision to pre-plan your funeral with our funeral home, you may wish to look at the option of pre-payment of the funeral expenses. You may choose to pay all expenses in one lump sum, or you may choose to make affordable monthly payments.
When pre-paying, we at Castellaw Funeral Home offer pre-paid funeral plans, that are funded though Homesteaders Life, Columbian Life, Unity, and Monumental Life Insurance Company.
We offer a Three (3) year, a Five (5) year, and a Ten (10) year payment plan. There is no more to pay after you have made payments for the designated length of time. Keep in mind that this funding is drawing interest. This interest growth is what guarantees that you or your family won't have to pay anymore money at the time of death (unless you increase the original funeral choices). Your family may even receive a refund.
Also keep in mind, if you answer NO to the health questions, you are on a payment plan, and if death occurs, the insurance company will pay to the funeral home the entire face amount, even if you have only made a couple of payments(See enclosed Benefit Payment Schedule).
By funding through one of our insurance plans for your financial services needs, there is no way to lose money. You are only investing your money, drawing interest, and guaranteeing that your family will not pay any additional charges, no matter when death occurs.
If you have any questions about our payment plans, please give us a call at 770-435-9038.
